Using Health at Every Size® Principles and the book “Reclaiming Body Trust” as our guides, we will explore themes such as:

  • Exploring our body stories and relationship to food
  • The rupture of disconnecting from ourselves, our bodies and restricting our life force.
  • Divesting from diet culture and the grief of letting go of the illusion of control or perfectionism.
  • Navigating Weight Stigma.
  • Advocating for oneself with the medical system and providers.
  • Reclaiming trust, movement, creativity, joy, pleasure, compassion, and relationships in the bodies we have now.

We will use group sharing, as well as gentle movement, mindfulness and expressive arts experiential offerings.

Group details:

Everyone can participate at their own comfort level. No art or movement experience is necessary. These offerings are meant to support self-expression and gentle embodiment.

About Alecia Singer, LMFT

I help women heal their relationship to food and find peace, vitality and joy in the bodies they have now. My love and belief in the power of the arts and creative expression profoundly inform my work. I have my own arts and healing practice and enjoy dance, painting, and poetry, as well as practicing yoga and mindfulness. I am deeply nourished by spending time in nature. and have been on a lifelong journey of healing the relationship to my body and embracing my life force and creativity throughout various life cycles, body shapes and changes. I received my MA in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Expressive Arts therapy from California Institute of Integral Studies and am also a graduate from the Tamalpa Institute in movement based Expressive Arts Therapy. I have advanced training in yoga therapy, mindfulness, Guided imagery and EMDR therapy for trauma. I have recently completed the Body Trust Certification Program.
