About Alecia Singer, LMFT

For over 20 years, I have been a therapist working in the field of eating disorders, body image concerns and other co-occurring issues such as trauma, addiction, depression and anxiety. Other areas of specialization include relationship and communication skills, grief and loss, life changing illness, life and career transitions, and enhancing creativity. I believe that optimal health and healing can be supported by working in an integrative model attending to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being of each individual.  I received my MA in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Expressive Arts therapy from California Institute of Integral Studies and am also a graduate from the Tamalpa Institute in movement based Expressive Arts Therapy. I have advanced training in yoga therapy, mindfulness, Integrative medicine, Guided imagery,  Sandplay therapy, Dialectical behavioral therapy and EMDR.

My style is warm, compassionate and engaged and I combine long term growth with practical interventions that support more immediate stress relief and behavioral shifts.

My  love and belief in the power of the arts and creative expression profoundly inform my work. I  have my own arts and healing  practice and enjoy dance, painting, and poetry, as well as practicing yoga and mindfulness. I am deeply nourished by spending time in nature. and have been on a lifelong journey of healing the relationship to my body and embracing my life force and creativity throughout various life cycles, body shapes and changes.
